Harmony, stillness, patience and peace… If there was one oil for allaying fears and worries, it would be Roman Chamomile. That’s why chamomile tea is seen as an all-round soother and calmer. Reach for this oil when feeling short-tempered, and float towards a more peaceful state. Heavily diluted, it is said to help calm temper tantrums in children. Its anti-inflammatory benefits could be helpful with skin conditions like eczema.
Common Uses: Traditionally, Chamomile has been used to help with headaches, insomnia, and even muscular pains, particularly when associated with anxiety. It is helpful with stomach discomfort, gastritis and ulcers. It is useful to help with easing irritation associated with PMS and menopause. Chamomile can help soothe burns, itchy skin and puffiness. To use, apply a few drops to a carrier oil and apply topically. Add several drops to a diffuser, or apply to the hands or bottoms of the feet and inhale to help with an anxious, nervous mind or with insomnia.
